Privacy Policy

Guard Lock ("the App", "we", "us") is developed with a simple principle: your data belongs on your device, not on our servers. This policy explains what the App accesses, why, and where it's stored.

Summary

• Guard Lock does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data.
• All device pairing information, logs, and settings are stored locally on your phone.
• There is no user account, no cloud sync, and no analytics or advertising SDKs.

Information the App accesses on your device

To function, Guard Lock requires the following device permissions:

• Bluetooth — to scan for and monitor connections to devices you mark as trusted (e.g. a smartwatch, earbuds, or car stereo).
• Location (on older Android versions only) — required by Android itself for Bluetooth Low Energy scanning on some OS versions. Guard Lock does not use this permission to track or store your location.
• Device Admin — used solely to lock your screen automatically when a trusted device disconnects, or when you use Panic Lock. It is never used for any other purpose.
• Notifications — used to show the ongoing "monitoring" status while the app's foreground service is active.
• Foreground Service — required by Android to keep Bluetooth monitoring running reliably in the background.

How your data is stored

Trusted device identifiers and app preferences are stored using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences. Connection history and device policies are stored in a local Room (SQLite) database on your device. None of this data ever leaves your phone — Guard Lock has no backend server to send it to.

Data we do not collect

• No account creation or sign-in is required, so we never collect names, emails, or passwords through the app.
• No location history is logged or stored.
• No usage analytics, crash telemetry, or advertising identifiers are collected.
• No data is sold or shared with third parties, because none is collected in the first place.

Third-party services

Guard Lock does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only "third party" involved is the Google Play Store itself, which handles app distribution and is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

Children's privacy

Guard Lock does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the App introduces optional cloud backup — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
